Ardencaple FC Resumes Activities as per ‘New Normal’
Great news for the Burgh’s youngsters and their parents. Caple is celebrating the return of Grassroots football and all members will be given a Scotland poster, postcard and Panini sticker album in preparation for our big summer of football and the UEFA Euro Finals.
Club Chairman Craig Holborn commented “We are absolutely thrilled to be getting things back to normal, or should I say ‘near’ normal. I’m sure that all of our players will be excited at the prospect of getting back onto the training pitch with their team-mates, and I would expect their parents to be equally pleased if not relieved.”
Naturally, all activities will be in accordance with the Scottish Government’s guidance on health, physical distancing and hygiene. The safety of all players, coaches and volunteers is of paramount importance, particularly focusing on minimising the risk of COVID infection/transmission.
Initially, all training sessions shall take place at Hermitage Academy and the weekly schedule for the various age-groups is as follows:

* 2 trial training sessions are being provisionally arranged for Friday evenings on 7th and 14th May. Anyone wishing for their child to attend these specific sessions must contact Club Secretary Euan Birss (07954- 420778) in advance to confirm the venue, make necessary arrangements and provide relevant details in line with COVID guidelines.

Fund-raising has also got underway as we have a couple of framed Scotland jerseys signed by national talisman John McGinn; one for the winner of a fun Club competition, and the other to be raffled soon to offer the Helensburgh public a chance to win.
We are also supporting local charity ‘Gary Andrews – Remember a Life’, and I have personally just completed the final leg of my sponsored walk on Friday 23rd April. Donations are still being accepted and are obviously most welcome and will be put to great use for Caple."
